Does this service cover French doors?

Yes. This page covers hinged patio and French door locking hardware. Tell us whether you have a separate deadbolt or a multipoint mechanism so we can discuss the right assessment.

Do I need a new lock if the handle is hard to lift?

Not necessarily. Alignment, strikes or the mechanism itself may be responsible. We assess the cause and confirm the proposed work before replacing hardware.

Can you replace any multipoint lock immediately?

Replacement depends on the door brand, mechanism and parts availability. We confirm the options and appointment availability when you call.

How much does hinged patio door lock replacement cost?

The total depends on the hardware, compatibility and work required. Get a phone estimate before booking and approve the final price before work begins.

My patio door slides on a track. Which service do I need?

Use our Sliding Door Lock Replacement service for sliding glass door latches and locks. The related service link below takes you to that page.

Problems with hinged patio and French door locks

Handle turns but the door will not lock

The handle, cylinder, strike or multipoint mechanism may be involved. We assess the cause before recommending replacement.

Two doors no longer secure together

On paired French doors, the active door and the fixed panel must align. Tell us which panel or locking point is failing.

Worn or damaged locking hardware

Replacement parts must match the existing door and mechanism. Describe the brand and hardware when requesting an estimate.

Rekey or replace?

Both retire the old keys. The right choice depends on the condition of your hardware.

Rekey

Keeps your existing locks in place
Old keys stop working
Good when hardware is in solid condition
Usually the lower-cost option

Replace

New lock hardware fitted and tested
Right choice for worn, damaged or dated locks
Lets you upgrade grade, finish or key type
Needed when parts are no longer available

Not sure which you need? Describe the door on the phone and we'll tell you honestly.
